Roman Chairs

Roman Chairs is a unique classroom strategy that encourages conversation with a partner. In a classroom, you will put chairs next to one another, but facing in opposite directions. It keeps the conversation more private and with less distraction. On a run through Centennial Park in Nashville, I couldn't help but notice these benches scattered throughout the park. I immediately thought of the Roman Chairs strategy, so I just had to take a picture. Imagine these on playgrounds as a way to encourage continued discussion and collaboration outside of the four classroom walls!
