A First for Many

This summer, as in the previous summer, Kim and I volunteered at the Martin Housing Authority Summer Camp, which serves 40 K-5 students.  As a culminating activity, we visited Reelfoot Lake.  We were supposed to all take a ride on a pontoon boat; however, upon our arrival, we discovered that plans had changed!  We would be going out in canoes:  1 adult to 2 students!  For most (ALL), it was a first time in a canoe!  I am pictured here with my two students.  They did an amazing job and fun was had by all, including Mr. Robert...who originally questioned the canoe idea!  We returned to Martin safe & sound!
