On Saturday, March 17, 2012, I attended the Reading Festival in downtown Ft. Myers. As the President-Elect of the Lee County Reading Council, I manned our presentation table with our President, Shannon Barone. Shannon and I had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful adults with whom we shared our role as a council in the community and we met many wonderful children who spent a beautiful day celebrating literacy. We proudly distributed free pencils, bookmarks, and I Love 2 Read stickers to hundreds of children in our community. In addition, we made great contacts for future presentations and met many creative people who may be interested in attending or presenting at our annual conference.
