Following a similar style from William Carlos Williams' poem, The Red Wheelbarrow, here is my So Much Depends poem...written for my beautiful daughter, Bianca. This poem was
written during the National Writing Project at Florida Gulf Coast University.


So much depends on…how routinely you read to her
For it feeds her thirst for knowledge

So much depends on how often you talk to her
For it fuels her curiosity

So much depends on how frequently you hold her
For it nurtures her sense of security

So much depends on how often you tell her: I love you
For it provides her with confidence

So much depends on…you
For someday, you will depend on her.
