Integrating Literacy in Social Studies
I have always believed that literacy needs to be integrated in all content area classrooms, as it is a widely used skill. Unfortunately, many students in this country are reading below grade level, which, to me, further supports the need for such integration. Additionally, I believe that children's and young adolescent literature can greatly impact student learning in the content area classroom!
