It's amazing that the Spring 2012 semester is nearing the end...What a ride it has been! To fulfill one of the EdS requirements, we had to complete a 200 hour internship. YES, I said 200 HOURS! While it was suggested that we work with a professor at the university, I found that to be my preference. Without hesitation, I chose to work with Dr. Slick. While she was the very same professor that made me question my return to school (to pursue my Master's degree after 20+ years from completing my BA), it was Dr. Slick that had the most impact on my life! While her class frustrated me the most, as a student, I learned the most from her. She required me to think outside the box and stretch myself beyond what I ever dreamed capable. It was her persistence and true passion for teaching that I found most intriguing. As her intern, I can honestly say, that I made the best choice when I chose to work with her. I have not only continued to embrace technology, but have shared in teaching it! I have had opportunities to teach at the university level and participate in all areas of higher ed. For this, I am eternally grateful. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Slick and wish to thank her for her role in being not only a mentor but a confidante. Dr. Slick...YOU are a ROCKSTAR!
